Hello my dears!

Lots of news this week. I sold a book!

Queen of the Sea is something I’ve been working on in the background for a couple of years now, and my dayjob for the next 2+ years is going to involve taking it from a submission manuscript to 350 pages of comics, illustration, and prose. I am excited and intimidated all at the same time!

What will this mean for Family Man?  I’m not exactly sure yet! Family Man is certainly NOT going anywhere; I’ve committed countless hours of my life to this project, so you will keep seeing pages until there are no more pages to draw. In a way this is a very welcome consolidation of the freelance gigs I take on to help pay the bills.

All that said, the production schedule on Queen is dependent on outside forces, so it’s possible that at some points I’ll have to temporarily downshift on this comic in order to preserve my health and sanity in the face of the almighty deadline. But that is not for you to worry about, my dears; I’m here to stay, and eventually you’ll have a crack at that three volume set of Family Man and a hefty doorstop called Queen of the Sea as well. YAY!

    ….Ariana’s expression. It speaks VOLUMES. And I’m still not entirely sure what it’s saying. Beautiful artwork on that (well, everything, but that in particular made me sit up and say Wow!)

      I think I see a hint of guilt in Ariana’s expression. Could that have been Dylan’s intention? Can she be THAT good? :)

    Hello.

    I found this comic yesterday and as of now i’ve just finished the archive; i must say is an amazing work, the art is great, the characters are well written and the setting is wonderful. Experience with previous webcomics make the news’ post a little ominous, but i’ll have hope. Congratulations on your book, sounds promising; you should do what you feel is best, i hope you’ll still have time for Family Man though.

      Thanks, JP! And really, don’t worry; I’ve been doing Family Man for almost ten years now, so there’s…no way I’m NOT gonna finish it, barring a sudden demise! ;)
